McKinnon appointed Interim VP for Advancement at Texas State

Ted McKinnon has been selected to serve as Interim Vice President for University Advancement at Texas State University-San Marcos, effective Feb. 1, 2011.

McKinnon earned his bachelor of science in education degree from Texas State University in 1972. He worked for the American Cancer Society, where he led the state in percent of increase in funds raised. He also developed and conducted a cancer screening program that received national recognition.

In 1977, McKinnon returned to Texas State as a development associate. He has since served as the director of Alumni Affairs and Annual Giving; the executive director of the Bobcat Athletic Foundation and director of special events in the athletic department; the associate athletic director for external operations; a development officer; and, most recently, as the Assistant Vice President for Development. He has helped lead Texas State’s Pride in Action fundraising campaign.
