Gonzalez named Principal of the Year
Spring Independent School District recently recognized Texas State alumna Leticia Gonzalez as its 2011 Elementary Principal of the Year. She is the principal of Milton Cooper Elementary in Houston, Texas.
Gonzalez has worked in education for the past 30 years. After graduating from Texas State University in 1980 with a degree in elementary education and certification in bilingual education, she began her teaching career in Alice, Texas. She taught elementary school and served successively as the Alice ISD parental involvement coordinator, an assistant principal and a principal. She completed her master’s in elementary education and earned mid-management certification from Texas A&M University in Kingsville. Gonzalez accepted her current post with Spring ISD in 2004.
